Acting on tip-off, Border Security Force personnel recover five packets of narcotic substance weighing a total of 8kg from a field on the outskirts of Kakkar village
The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered 8kg of heroin dropped by a drone that sneaked into Indian territory from Pakistan on the outskirts of Kakkar village in Amritsar district on Friday.
The seizure was made during a search operation launched by the BSF on the basis of suspicion of a drone intrusion from across the border.

A BSF spokesperson said, “On specific information, our personnel launched a search operation and recovered five packets of narcotic substance packed together as a single consignment weighing 8kg from a field on the outskirts of Kakkar village.”
He said the consignment appears to have been dropped by a rogue drone as a ring and eight luminous strips were found attached to the consignment.
The seizure of the contraband comes a day after the BSF shot down a drone carrying 2kg of heroin and 170g of opium near Dhanoe Kalan in Amritsar district.
