A resident of Bapu Dham Colony in Sector 26 has been arrested for possessing a stolen Activa scooter, police said on Sunday. Officials said Aadil Khan was on Saturday seen riding the scooter that had been stolen from the Industrial Area. Based on his disclosure, three more Activa scooters were recovered, which police suspect had been stolen. He has 11 cases, including theft cases and one under the Arms Act, registered against him. A case under Section 317(2) (dishonestly receiving or retaining stolen property) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered at the Sector 26 police station.
In another incident, Sumit of Jind district in Haryana was apprehended near the airport light point in Chandigarh while using a fake number plate on his Swift Dzire car. While the vehicle was originally registered in Punjab, he was using a Delhi number. A case under Section 341(2) of the BNS was registered at the Sector 31 police station.
