Chandigarh Golf Club inaugurates Captains Cup

Chandigarh Golf Club hosted the inaugural edition of the Captains Cup, a tournament instituted in honour of club captain Alamgir Grewal. Held over two days on June 20 and 21, the championship coincided with the Father’s Day weekend and attracted the club’s most accomplished amateur golfers.

The tournament was exclusively open to single-handicap golfers (0–9 handicap) and was contested over 36 holes in a stroke-play format, ensuring a high-quality and fiercely competitive field. Players faced challenging course conditions and showcased skill and consistency throughout the event.

Dilsher Singh Grewal etched his name in the club’s history books by becoming the inaugural Captains Cup champion. Producing two rounds of 71 and 75, he finished with an aggregate score of 146 to claim the title. HS Kang finished runner-up with a total score of 149, while Tarun Lehal secured the second runner-up position with 154.

Presenting the prizes, club captain Alamgir Grewal lauded the participants for maintaining a high standard of golf and expressed satisfaction at the launch of the event. He thanked the players, officials, volunteers and members for their support.
