A minor dispute over the use of a common staircase escalated into a physical altercation between two women living in the same building in Sunny Enclave, Kharar, prompting police to register a case on Tuesday.
According to the complaint, Jyoti alleged that her neighbour, Sukhwinder Kaur, attacked her during an argument over accessing the shared staircase in their residential building. The incident reportedly occurred when both women were using the staircase around the same time, leading to a confrontation.
Kharar city police station registered a case under Sections 115(2), 117(2), and 351(2) of the BNS. No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation is ongoing.
Investigating officer Rajinder Singh said, “We have recorded statements from both parties involved and are verifying the facts. No arrest has been made yet and notice will be given to the accused before the arrest.”
