Amarjit Singh Gill, 45, the younger brother of Khanna Market Committee chairman Jagtar Singh Ratnheri and the sarpanch of Ratnheri village, died in a road accident after a truck hit his motorcycle late on Thursday night, officials said on Friday.

According to preliminary information, Gill was returning home from his shop in the Grain Market when the accident occurred. He was critically injured and rushed to hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The Khanna police have lodged an FIR against the unidentified truck driver and started an investigation to identify the accused.
