8 mobile phones recovered from Ludhiana jail

The jail staff conducted surprise checks in the jail and recovered eight mobile phones lying abandoned in the jail

Eight mobile phones were recovered from the Ludhiana Central Jail during a special checking. The Division number 7 police lodged two separate FIRs in the case.

Gagandeep Sharma, assistant jail superintendent, stated that the jail staff conducted surprise checks in the jail. In the first raid, the jail staff recovered eight mobile phones lying abandoned in the jail.

In the second raid, the jail staff recovered two mobile phones from the possession of two jail inmates, Kawaljit Ram and Ram Ratan.

ASI Gurdial Singh, who is investigating the case, said two separate cases under Sections 52 A (1) of the Prisons Act had been lodged against the accused at the Division number 7 police station.
