Ludhiana: Motorcyclists attack car occupants after collision

Police have identified two accused as Simranjit Singh and Bhagwan Singh, residents of Garhi Fazal, while three others remain unidentified.

A group of men allegedly attacked the occupants of a Maruti Swift near Garhi Fazal village after the vehicle was involved in a minor collision with a motorcycle on the link road. The Meharban Police have registered an FIR and are investigating the incident.

According to the complaint filed by Gurwandeep Singh, a resident of Police Jamalpur Colony, he was travelling in the car along with friends Jaspreet Singh alias Happy, Pratap Singh, and Tushar when a speeding motorcycle carrying two persons collided with the front side of their vehicle. When Singh stopped to question the motorcyclist, the rider reportedly abused him and later called his associates to the spot. The group allegedly assaulted Singh and his friends and issued threats before fleeing.

During the preliminary inquiry, police identified two accused as Simranjit Singh and Bhagwan Singh, residents of Garhi Fazal, while three others remain unidentified.

ASI Gurwinder Singh, investigating the case, said an FIR has been lodged under Sections 115(2), 117(2), 109, 351(2),(3), 191(3), and 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Efforts are on to trace and arrest all accused.
