Neeta Club Rampur and Gill Club Ghawaddi entered the semi-finals of the senior category on the fifth day of the 16th Olympian Prithipal Singh Hockey Festival being organised by the Mata Sahib Kaur Sports Charitable Trust at Jarkhar.
Neeta Club Rampur secured a semi-final berth after defeating Baba Sher Shah Bali Hockey Academy, Ferozepur, 2-1 in a penalty shootout following a 3-3 draw in their final league match. With the win, Rampur finished the league stage with 11 points.
In another senior category match, Gill Club Ghawaddi defeated Young Club Utala 7-3 to register their third consecutive victory in the tournament.
In the junior category, HTC Centre Rampur defeated title favourites Guru Teg Bahadur Academy Chachrari 3-2 in a penalty shootout after both teams were tied 3-3 in regulation time.
Ek Noor Academy Tehing also defeated Sangrur Hockey Academy in a shootout. The match ended 3-3 in regular time before Tehing secured a 2-1 victory in penalties.
