Moose Wala murder case: Singer’s father Balkaur Singh records statement in Mansa court, next hearing on Jan 16

The 28-year-old singer-turned-politician was driving around with his friends in Mansa’s Jawaharke village when he was indiscriminately fired at, leading to his death. Canada-based Goldy Brar, who has ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, had claimed responsibility for the killing.

A Mansa sessions court on Friday recorded the statement of Balkaur Singh, father of slain Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh alias Sidhu Moose Wala who was shot dead in May 2022.

The 28-year-old singer-turned-politician was driving around with his friends in Mansa’s Jawaharke village when he was indiscriminately fired at, leading to his death. Canada-based Goldy Brar, who has ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, had claimed responsibility for the killing.

Hearing the case on Friday, sessions judge Manjinder Singh, recorded the presence of Mahindra Thar, which the singer was driving, at the time of his death. The court adjourned the matter to January 16 to record statements of the prosecution witnesses. Details of the court proceedings are yet to be released. Advocate Satinderpal Singh Mittal, who is assisting the prosecution as the counsel of Moose Wala’s father, said that Balkaur will continue recording his statement in the next hearing.
