The recent spell of dry days in the city is likely to come to an end from Wednesday onwards, when pre-monsoon showers are expected to arrive.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light rain is expected on Wednesday that will be part of the pre-monsoon showers, as the monsoon system is advancing towards the region and is likely to be declared in the first week of July.
Speaking about this, IMD officials said, “Pre-monsoon showers are rains that are recorded up to 72 hours before the onset of monsoon.”
With rain expected to continue till the weekend, a fall in temperature is also on the cards.
On Monday, humidity stayed high, as low-lying easterly winds that bring moisture started blowing in the city. There was a slight dip in the maximum temperature that went down from 37.8°C on Sunday to 37.5°C on Monday, but was 0.2 degree above normal.
On the other hand, the minimum temperature rose from 29.1°C to 31.2°C, 6.4 degrees above normal. Over the next three days, the day temperature is expected to remain between 32°C and 38°C, while the minimum temperature will stay between 26°C and 30°C.
