Agreeing to Singh’s suggestion, the association appointed him as lifetime president, and named Kumar, who has distinguished career with Doordarshan spanning 39 years, as its new president. Kumar said he will work in coordination with the association to promote wrestling in Punjab. He said aiming to give due credit to women in the association, national wrestler Gursharan Kaur has been appointed as senior vice-president and Navjot Kaur as vice-president of the association.

Several SAD leaders join AAP

Chandigarh Several Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leaders, including Malwa zone president Harpal Juneja, joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab on Tuesday. They were welcomed into the party by chief minister Bhagwant Mann. Juneja, who joined the AAP along with his father social worker Bhagwan Dass Juneja, was the SAD candidate from the Patiala urban constituency in the state assembly elections, according to a press statement issued by AAP.
