The Haryana government on Friday authorised Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHS), Rohtak, to recruit personnel for Class-A and Class-B posts, including permanent doctors and medical faculty, a move aimed at addressing shortages of doctors and faculty in state’s government medical colleges.

The decision allows UHS Rohtak to recruit permanent doctors and faculty not only for its own institutions but also for newly established government medical colleges across the state.
While sharing this information UHS vice-chancellor Dr HK Aggarwal said the university would now conduct recruitment for doctors, professors, associate professors, assistant professors and other eligible Class-A and Class-B posts in government medical colleges, including those at Koriyawas, Bhiwani and Jind.
Aggarwal said the new arrangement was expected to speed up recruitment and help fill long-pending vacancies that have affected medical education and patient care.
“The effort will be to complete the entire recruitment process, from issuing the advertisement to making appointments, within six months,” he said, adding that the selection process would be transparent, merit-based and time-bound.
He thanked chief minister Nayab Singh Saini and health minister Aarti Rao for entrusting the university with the responsibility, describing the move as an important step towards strengthening Haryana’s healthcare infrastructure.

Under the new system, UHS will itself issue advertisements, conduct interviews and complete the appointment process. A special team led by Dr Arun, professor in-charge of the university’s recruitment branch, is preparing to conduct the process online and in a time-bound manner.
