The Haryana government will provide land for the construction of a Dharamshala in Kaithal in the name of Maharishi Kashyap, said Haryana chief minister (CM) Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday.
He also announced that a roundabout in Indri will be named after Maharishi Kashyap and his status will be installed there.
Addressing a state-level function organised on the occasion of “Maharishi Kashyap Jayanti” at Sant Kabir Kutir in Chandigarh, Saini also said that funds will be provided for establishing a Maharishi Kashyap Chair at Kurukshetra University.
MLA from Indri assembly constituency, Ram Kumar Kashyap, said that although the Kashyap community wanted to celebrate Maharishi Kashyap Jayanti with a grand function in Kaithal, they decided to organise a smaller event keeping in mind the appeal made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Saini to save diesel and petrol.
