Two children, aged 7 and 5, died of suspected food poisoning in Sonepat’s Mayapuri colony on Wednesday night, said police. According to a spokesman of Sonepat police, three siblings had consumed noodles and parathas on Wednesday evening, following which their health deteriorated. “They were rushed to civil hospital in Sonepat, where a 7-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy died due to suspected food poisoning. The third girl is out of danger, and she is undergoing treatment. The exact cause of the death will be ascertained after the post-mortem report,” the spokesman added.

Ambala In a failed bid to escape, a local resident accused in a theft case allegedly jumped off from the first floor of the Court Complex and got injured on Thursday, police said. The accused was identified as Aman alias More, a resident of Lal Kurti in Ambala Cantonment. Aman was arrested by the police on Wednesday for his alleged involvement in a mobile theft from a local gurdwara same day. A case was registered under Sections 224, 186, 511 of the IPC at Ambala City police station. The accused is currently undergoing treatment at district civil hospital and is said to be stable.
