6 held for running airline job racket from Noida

The accused allegedly operated offices for fictitious airlines, including “Bretish Airways” and “Shankh Airways”, as well as the “Future Wings Learning Institute”, from Gaur City Mall. They also created three to four websites resembling those of genuine airlines to make the operations appear legitimate to prospective jobseekers.

According to police, a complaint was filed against unknown persons at the Central district cyber police station on June 10. The complainant said he had come across an online job advertisement for “Bretish Airways” at IGI Airport and submitted his details through a website.

He later received a call from a woman posing as an HR executive, who told him that he first had to complete a diploma in Airport/Aviation Management from the “Future Wings Learning Institute”. The man subsequently transferred ₹10,000 for the course and received fake admission documents and a letter. He later realised that he had been cheated, police said.

Police said Sandeep had previously worked as a telecaller for several fake aviation recruitment companies before allegedly deciding to start his own racket. He roped in his friend Akhil, and the two rented an office at Gaur City Mall in Noida, police said.

The accused initially operated under the name Pragati Airways before changing it to “Bretish Airways” and later “Shankh Airways”, according to police.

“They have been doing this for years. They keep changing the name of the company to evade police. In the last two months, their “Bretish Airways” has been named in more than 10 NCRP complaints. There are more victims but many don’t file FIR because the amount is not too big. Also, when accused found that people were making complaints against him, he started “Shankh Airways”,” said DCP Singh.

During the investigation, police also found that the accused had created multiple websites and had purchased jobseekers’ data from online data portals.

“Mainly, females were employed as telecallers who posed as HR executives and were tasked to cheat candidates. Each candidate was cheated of ₹7,000-15,000. They would lure job seekers by offering them diploma and job and even issue fake admission and registration slips.

The accused persons used to frequently change their offices and websites, and break/discard SIM cards and mobile phones to avoid detection,” added the DCP.

Police said they also arrested 47-year-old website developer Rakesh Kumar from Ghaziabad and three women — Shweta, Sapna and Sakshi — who were allegedly employed as telecallers.

According to police, Rakesh worked with multiple local brands and helped them create websites for their businesses. Police are investigating the extent of his involvement in the alleged racket.
