The Gurugram district administration on Saturday said that Ayushman cards under the Chirayu scheme will be made for free at the common service centres for antyodaya families. These cards will entitle the families to a yearly insurance cover of 5 lakh, under the Haryana government’s newly notified Chirayu scheme.

The Chirayu scheme was launched by Haryana chief minister last week to extend the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat scheme to 2.9 million beneficiaries in the state having a yearly income of 1.8 lakh or less. Treatments for 1,500 ailments are covered under the scheme at 715 hospitals across the state.

Vishram Kumar Meena, additional deputy commissioner, Gururgam, said Ayushman cards are being made at 270 centres, and antyodaya families, who were recently included in the Ayushman scheme, may apply at these centres to get their cards made for free.

Meena said those families whose income is less than 1.8 lakh per annum may apply for these cards. “Until now, 70,000 such cards have been made. The applicants must get their KYC done at the common service centres and Ayushman card will be linked with their Aadhaar card,” he said.

In Gururgam, 39 health-care institutions have been empaneled under the Chirayu scheme of which 32 are private facilities while seven are run by the government.
