New Delhi: The Delhi government on Wednesday reconstituted the Delhi Commission for Safai Karamcharis, appointing Sunita Kangra as its chairperson and Manoj Kumar and Sushant Sagar as part-time members.

The appointments were made on the directions of Chief minister Rekha Gupta as part of the government’s effort to strengthen the commission and improve governance related to the welfare of sanitation workers, stated a release issued by CM’s office,
The commission plays a key role in safeguarding the rights of safai karamcharis, addressing their grievances and promoting their welfare.
Gupta said the objective of the move was to strengthen the institutional framework for the welfare of sanitation workers while ensuring better protection of their interests.
She added that the new appointments would make the commission more proactive and improve administrative efficiency and public service delivery in the Capital.
