A 35-year-old married woman and her 60-year-old mother were found murdered in a house at Yadav Nagar locality of Awagarh town in Etah district in the wee hours of Tuesday.
It is alleged, the 35-year-old woman’s husband killed his wife and mother-in-law over some dispute. Three kids of the couple were also present at the house.
Additional SP Etah Shwetabh Pandey said that Awagarh police got information of the double murder at a house in Yadav Nagar locality on Tuesday.
“The police along with a field unit reached the house and found Priyanka and her mother Kamla Devi killed by some sharp-edged heavy object. The murder took place on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday,” said ASP.
“On enquiry being made from three children in the house, it was found that their mother and father had regular arguments often leading to fights. The accused husband allegedly killed his wife and mother-in-law and then fled,” said the ASP.
The ASP said that case of murder has been registered at Awagarh police station against Rukum Pal, the woman’s husband, and his father Siyaram and one unidentified person. Éfforts are on to nab the absconding accused, said ASP.
