Pune - D.E.S. Pune University will start a two-year full-time Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme from January 2026, Dr Ravindra Acharya, president of D.E.S. Pune University, informed in a press meet.

“The university developed this new programme through consultations with education experts and academicians,” he said. “This course has been designed to address modern challenges in the field. Since D.E.S. operates its own schools (Grades 1-12), students will gain practical teaching experience in 3 out of 4 semesters.”
According to UGC and NEP guidelines, admissions will occur twice yearly, with the first session running from January 2026 to January 2028. Eligibility requires a minimum of 55% in a bachelor’s degree and either the Maharashtra B.Ed. entrance test or the university’s own entrance exam, said DES Pune university vice-chancellor Rajesh Ingle.
