Burglar breaks into MG Road shop, steals goods worth ₹58,000

Pune: An unidentified burglar broke into a ready-made garment shop on the busy MG Road in Camp on the intervening night of January 4 and January 5 and decamped with cash, apparel, and a mobile phone.

Lashkar police station has registered an FIR on the basis of a complaint filed by shop owner, Rakesh Kashinath Allu (26), a resident of Somwar Peth. The store - Made For Him - is located on the ground floor of Chetna Apartment.

Allu mentioned in his complaint that he closed his shop at around 11pm on January 4 and returned the next morning at 10:30am to open it, but found the locks on the shutter broken. On entering the shop, he found the cash drawer damaged and merchandise scattered across the premises.

The FIR states that cash and goods totalling 58,000 are missing - 23,000 in cash, 120 leather and other materials jackets valued at 30,000, and a mobile phone worth 5,000.

Police have registered a case against unknown persons under sections 331(4) (house trespass or house-breaking) and 305 (theft) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
