Model code of conduct ends in Pune after MLC poll results declared

Pune district's model code of conduct ends as legislative council polls conclude unopposed, with NCP's Vikram Kakade winning after rival withdrawals.

Pune: The Pune district administration declared on Friday that the model code of conduct for the legislative council polls in Pune has come to an end since the polls took place unopposed and the results have been declared.

Vikram Kakade of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) won the election after rival candidates withdrew their candidatures. NCP(SP)’s Shrikant Patil, Bharatiya Janata Party’s Pradeep Kand and Shiv Sena’s Ranjeet Jare withdrew their candidatures.

In a statement, the Pune administration announced that the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Maharashtra, declared the model code of conduct will end immediately in all the constituencies where the MLC polls have taken place unopposed and the results have been declared.
