PMC gets 7,100 cr revenue for FY 2022-23

Pune Municipal Corporation earned ?7,100 crore in taxes in the financial year 2022-23, including ?1,963 crore from property tax and ?1,540 crore from building permission. Despite Covid-19, the civic body achieved good revenue.

In the financial year 2022-23, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) earned 7,100 crore in taxes, including 1,963 crore from property tax and 1,540 crore from the building permission department.

“Despite the after-effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the civic body was able to achieve good revenue in the last fiscal year and received 7,100 crore in taxes from citizens and other establishments,” PMC commissioner Vikram Kumar said.

PMC’s main source of revenue is property tax, which totalled 1,963 crore. That was followed by 1,540 crore received from building permission after deducting property taxes.

Aside from these taxes, PMC received income from the Goods and Services Tax (GST), the Sky Sign Department, the Anti-Encroachment Department, and other sources.

On March 31, the last day of the financial year 2022-23, PMC got 41.16 crore for property tax.
