Sarnaik inspects Pune Station ST stand, warns officials on cleanliness

State transport minister and Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) chairman Pratap Sarnaik inspected the facilities at Pune station bus stand on Friday, and directed officials to immediately address deficiencies in passenger amenities. Sarnaik reviewed facilities including the Hirakani room, drinking water kiosk, toilets and other basic amenities, with a focus on ensuring that passengers are provided clean, safe and quality facilities.

During the inspection, Sarnaik sought information from officials about the shortcomings observed at the bus stand and instructed them to take immediate corrective measures. He specifically directed officials to ensure regular cleanliness and maintenance of toilets, adequate availability of drinking water, and proper facilities for female passengers.

“MSRTC is an integral part of the lives of ordinary people. Along with providing good bus services, it is the responsibility of the corporation to provide passengers with a clean and dignified environment. Cleanliness is the basic right of passengers, and any negligence or carelessness in maintaining cleanliness will not be tolerated,” Sarnaik said.

Sarnaik also interacted directly with passengers at the bus stand to understand their experience of MSRTC services. He sought feedback on the difficulties faced by passengers, the quality of bus services, and the facilities available at the station.

Sarnaik directed officials to conduct regular inspections of bus stands and ensure that deficiencies identified during such visits are resolved without delay. Sarnaik said passenger convenience and provision of basic amenities should remain the highest priority for the MSRTC.
