NER initiative: Now, men in saffron, blue and neon green to help passengers onboard

Newly deployed railway personnel in glittery saffron, blue, and neon green jackets will provide different services to passengers onboard trains under North Eastern Railway (NER) Lucknow Division. The orange-jacketed personnel will provide bed rolls, blue-jacketed personnel will take care of cleanliness and onboard housekeeping, and a green-jacketed "Swachhta Prahari" will supervise overall cleanliness. The service has been started under a pilot project in four trains, and other trains will be added based on project success. The system aims to make it easy for passengers to identify whom to ask for help and resolve complaints quickly.

Firozabad, Mathura beat others in drive against communicable diseases

Firozabad and Mathura districts topped a cleanliness drive and awareness campaign on communicable diseases, while Mirzapur ranked last, according to a tally based on district-wise performance. Only 22% of bushes and shrubs were cleared in Mirzapur, while just 31% of swine herders were sensitized in Bhadohi. The campaign involved various departments, including health, agriculture, and Swachh Bharat Mission.
