For Jaipur team’s psychologist Jeremy Snape, it was business as usual. He returned from London earlier in the day and drove down from Delhi, awaiting the arrival of his players that were holidaying in Goa. Snape used the five-day break to conduct meetings at Lord’s as this is his testimonial year.
On Friday, while the Jaipur players were still assembling from different destinations, Bangalore team went through a routine practice session.
Snape said no one was concerned about the security and his team was looking forward to entering the semifinal.
“The break has come at a good time for us. The tournament was getting monotonous and has taken a toll on players’ body and minds. They will come back refreshed,” Snape said.
The 35-year-old Englishman sympathised with the blast victims but then they are focussed on the game. “The public will be concerned about the situation. But we will switch to cricket.”
Misbah backs his captain
Bangalore’s key batsman, Misbah-ul-Haq said that players were also responsible for the team under-performing in the IPL.
“When the team is losing, everyone will talk about things not right with the management and blame the captain,” Misbah said. “The captain is also under pressure. But he is doing his best, communicating with his players. We can’t say the captain is responsible but the players are also equally responsible.”
