“There has been some misinterpretation of a statement issued by my Bangalore office. The Bangalore IPL team is not for sale and neither do we seek to transfer a majority of our current players.” said Mallya.

He, however, added that the team was contemplating trading three foreign players. “We have identified three foreign players who we will be willing swap with other IPL teams to achieve team balance. If this does not happen, we will do more Indian signings.”

Earlier reports had suggested that Mallya had put all the players on sale for the second edition of the tournament after a disastrous start.
