Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary N Srinivasan told IANS that the report was baseless and unfounded.

"We have no news about it. Half the reports coming out in the media are baseless. There is no substance in this report," said Srinivasan.

A daily, quoting an unnamed top player, said that the players wanted Rs5 crores each as bonus. Immediately after the win, the BCCI had announced a cash award of Rs1 crore for each player.

"We are not greedy for money...There is no harm in asking for more since the Board will earn thousands of crores after India's victory. A player's life is very uncertain. Who knows what will happen next," the daily quoted the unnamed player as saying.

The player also objected to BCCI's decision to award support staff like the logistics manager with Rs50 lakhs.
