BCCI tells Vengsarkar, stop press!

The key officials of BCCI do not favour chairman of the national selection panel Dilip Vengsarkar writing columns in newspapers during the Challenger Series.

The key officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) did not favour chairman of the national selection panel Dilip Vengsarkar writing columns, syndicated to a top player management firm, in newspapers during the recent Challenger Series.

And on Saturday, Vengsarkar was barred from writing newspaper columns as the BCCI rules do no allow a selector to write in the media. " We have asked Vengsarkar not to write columns in newspapers," BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah told reporters.

It may be recalled that the Hindustan Times had raised the issue on October 28 that Vengsarkar's writings leading to unnecessary talk when a selector's opinions were being marketed through a high profile player marketing agency.
