Over a billion plus cricket lovers in the sub-continent will be waiting with bated breath this weekend as India and Bangladesh find out whether they will seal their quarterfinal berths at the World Cup.

England’s fighting win over the West Indies in Chennai on Thursday has rattled both India and Bangladesh. A West Indies win would have knocked England out and ensured that India and Bangladesh, along with West Indies and Group B leaders South Africa, went through.

However, Thursday’s result has left Group B wide open. Bangladesh, who play South Africa in Mirpur on Saturday, need to pull off an unthinkable win. If they lose, their hopes will hinge on India defeating the West Indies in their last league game in Chennai on Sunday.
