PCB sources privy to happenings in the PCB said that some senior officials including chief operating officer Saleem Altaf could face problems in the next few weeks because the Board is finding itself in an embarrassing position after Miandad resigned.

"Chairman Ejaz Butt is not really happy with the situation specially with the leakage of confidential documents and has got a briefing from Director (Human Resources) Wasim Bari on this," one source said.

"The Chairman is also facing pressure from influential quarters in the government who are not happy with the way Miandad had to resign. The Senate standing committee on sports has also summoned Miandad for his side of the story on February 9," he said.

Miandad, who is also a former cricketer, resigned as he was not happy with the powers and job responsibilities assigned to him by Butt.
