OUT! MISTIMED AND TAKEN​​! AM Ghazanfar strikes and is fired up, understandably so. MI are up and about finally. Ghazanfar dangles it full outside off, inviting the drive or a big lofted shot. Abhishek takes the bait but slices across the line. The ball is spooned towards the cover-point region. Boult moves to his left at backward point and takes it cleanly. The ball flies towards point, where Naman Dhir leaps up to grab it above his head with both hands, but the ball clips his fingertips and goes behind. The fielder from short third goes after it and cuts it off to keep it down to two runs. It is just that kind of a day for Head.

DROPPED AND SIX! A better effort was needed there! Fuller delivery, well outside off. Travis Head throws his hands at it and the ball flies off the outside edge towards deep backward point. Naman Dhir runs to his left and hops up to grab it with both hands above his head, but fails to judge the flight of the ball and does not even get fingertips as it goes between his hands and over the fence. Hardik has a blank expression as the skipper thinks that it should have been taken.

A quick and sharp bouncer, on middle and leg, Abhishek Sharma gets beaten on the pull shot. There is some interest from Ryan Rickelton for a caught behind, but once again gets no real support from anyone else. A bit of an expensive start from Bumrah's standards.
