Watch out, everyone! What was Sherfane Rutherford actually doing out there? Outside off, Jack Edwards punched it towards cover and set off for a single. Rutherford came charging in from cover and instead of under-arming it to Sam Billings, fired a powerful throw. Billings thought it better to save himself and nutmegged it. The ball went between his leaping legs and just missed the stumps. By the time short fine leg could get across, the batters pinched the second.

OUT! CAUGHT! Daniel Sams is absolutely pumped with that wicket. Another slower one at just 102 kph, floated up very full and on off. Josh Philippe stays leg side of the ball and swings across the line, only to slice it off the toe end of the blade and wide of short third. Tanveer Sangha moves swiftly to his right and takes a simple catch as Philippe departs for 35 (27) and the Sixers are 59/2 at the end of 8 overs.

Well, that was some unusual cricket all around. Tanveer Sangha with a real drag down wide outside the off stump and Jack Edwards just tries to cut it late but somehow gets an edge off the toe end and over first slip. It will just be a single in the end.

He had to turn back and by then, Sam Billings, the keeper, got to the ball. Picked it up in a flash and fired a throw at the bowler's end. Tanveer Sangha kept his cool and collected the throw, taking the bails off. The third umpire wanted to check whether the run out was clean and hence there was a small delay, but the first replay confirmed it easily. The ball is travelling flat towards deep mid-wicket, where Davies runs to his left but then, perhaps jumps just a bit casually in the end, or maybe, cautiously, to ensure that the momentum does not take him beyond the ropes. But the ball rockets into his palms and bursts beyond the ropes!
