And in a bid to tie the loose ends after its initial success, the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday decided to improve and fine tune the DRS further to ensure that cricket was error-free.

In his report to the ICC on Thursday, ICC general manager David Richardson said that in 13 Test matches the percentage of correct decisions has risen from 91.3 per cent to 97.44 per cent.

The ICC Board, which met for the first time at the new ICC Headquarters in Dubai, decided to continue to build on the DRS and discuss further technological improvements with broadcasters.

Amongst other major decisions, the Board reappointed Ian Bishop and Mark Taylor to the ICC Cricket Committee as media representatives and named Gary Kirsten as the representative of national coaches following the resignation of Mickey Arthur.

It accepted the ICC Anti-Corruption and Security Unit’s recommendation on the requirement of a designated full-time security manager by all the full members.

Mumbai: After South Africa, the Indian Premier League (IPL) could soon be going to the United States.

On Thursday, IPL commissioner Lalit Modi met with CEO of USA Cricket, Donald Lockerbie, at Dubai to explore a strategic partnership to take the Twenty20 meet to the US.

“The Indian Premier League and USA Cricket have agreed to work jointly on a master plan to bring the IPL to the USA and will meet again to form a working group in May 2010 and take the process ahead,” the IPL said in a statement on Thursday.
