Gibbs, the 36-year-old batsman who is still contracted to CSA, released his autobiography To The Point on Monday. He writes about drinking, drugs and sexual antics during his 14 years with the South African team.

He also calls current captain Graeme Smith "simply too powerful."

CSA said an outcome "will be announced as soon as the board has taken a view or a decision on the matter."

Chief executive Gerald Majola added he had not read the book and could not comment.
