Indian Revenue skipper Amay Khurasiya won the toss and asked Air India Blue to bat first in a rain-shortened 42-over match. He and his teammates were left to rue their mistake as Chandan Madan, Manvinder Bisla and Mahendra Singh Dhoni unleashed a barrage of strokes that left the bowlers dumbfounded.
Racking up a monstrous 362 for 1, Air India Blue ended the match as a contest before the Indian Revenue even got a chance to bat.
Madan (74) and Bisla (152*) began in such strident fashion that 158 was on the board before Indian Revenue managed what would be their lone breakthrough in the innings. Avik Choudhury, who was the star of Indian Revenue's first game, was brought down to earth, being pummelled for 74 runs from his 8 overs. The others did not fare much better, with as many as seven bowlers being used and only Rakesh Bhadrapur conceding less than seven an over.
When Madan was caught by Hiken Shah off Bhadrapur things just got worse for Indian Revenue.
Dhoni, clearly keen to have a go after a lay-off, waded into the bowling. India's captain kept the big hits coming, hitting seven sixes and as many fours in a 61-ball unbeaten 106. Midwicket and long-on were Dhoni's favourite areas, with two sixes disappearing over either region, but he did manage one strike over point as well.
