On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar on Saturday wished his former coach and mentor Ramakant Achrekar on Twitter and Facebook.
Tendulkar tweeted an old photograph of Achrekar helping him properly play a cricketing shot. The text overlaid says, “Dream begins with a teacher, who believes in you, who hugs and pushes you and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called ‘truth’.”
Achrekar (83) was awarded the Dronacharya Award in 1990 and the Padma Shri in 2010.
