Farhat told PTI today that he had sent his resignation to the ICL organisers asking them to clear his dues and release him from his contract.

"I have decided that it is better to break my ties with the ICL and try to regain my place in the national team where there are slots up for grab for openers," he said.

Farhat, a stylish left-handed batsman, said he would submit his No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the ICL to the Pakistan Cricket Board in the next few days so that he could be considered for the national team for future tournaments.

"I have taken heart from the fact that the board and the national selectors have recalled four of the ICL players back to the national team who resigned recently," he said.
