Praveen Kumar was unlucky to miss the World Cup due to injury, but the medium-pacer is pragmatic about the loss and is looking to do well for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the Indian Premier League.
Shrugging of the disappointment, Praveen said he was focussed on the season ahead.
"A player has to think practically. I was injured and had a long recovery time. But when we reached final, I was praying for the team," he said.
The Uttar Pradesh seamer has been a regular member of the India squad since his debut in 2007.
Making a comeback to cricket, Praveen said the injury had healed and he would be giving it his all.
"There is no difference where you play. What matters is that every time one gets on to the field, he should be focussed on the task on hand," he said.
Praveen, whose strength lies in swing and bowling long spells, was happy that he would be playing most of the matches on the pace-friendly wickets of the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali.
"I still don't know what kind of wickets we will get but going by the history it will be good to bowl there under lights," he said.

{{/usCountry}}On the challenges he would face with Kings XI Punjab, Praveen said he would try and contribute to the team's success in all the departments.
"I am concentrating on my batting with (coach) Michael Bevan helping me. So, I am not going to hold back once I am on the field," he said.
