Declaring himself the fittest and strongest he has ever felt, Australian pacer Brett Lee says he would have no trouble getting back into the side as its bowling spearhead in the Ashes series against England in July.
"I'm probably the fittest and strongest I've ever felt. I got back from India and was close to 82kg, now I'm up to 93kg," Lee told 'The Daily Telegraph'.
Asked whether he felt his place in the side was under threat from newcomers like Peter Siddle and Ben Hilfenhaus, Lee said, "Not from my point of view."
"As soon as I'm fit I'm looking forward to leading the Australian attack again...Hopefully my record will speak for itself.
"With 300 wickets under my belt, I'm looking forward to getting back in there and leading the attack. It's something I love doing and something I've done the last few years and enjoyed it," he added.
The 32-year-old, who underwent his career's fourth ankle surgery in January, had his first net session after the surgery on Thursday.
"I've had a great 10-week program working with my personal trainer Paul Haslam and we've been doing different types and styles of training to what I've been used to," he said.
