The infamous streaker, who was grounded by Andrew Symonds during the second final between India and Australia in Brisbane, is claimed to have made $7500 for selling his side of story to media, local papers reported on Friday.

"Despite copping a $1500 fine at Brisbane Magistrates Court, Robert Murray - David Ogilvie's best mate - said Ogilvie finished $6000 on top after selling his story to 'A Current Affair'," leading local daily The Daily Telegraph reported.

"But Channel 9, which also broadcasts cricket, denied any money had changed hands, claiming they had the same interview as everyone else," it added.

Ogilvie had ran onto the pitch naked, trying to evade the police by approaching in the direction of Symonds but the all rounder had flattened him by a rugby-style shoulder charge.

The paper said it was also alleged the network paid for Ogilvie to fly business class to Adelaide, where he's employed in the mining industry.

Dave Richardson, who lives just two doors down from the infamous streaker, said the money was transferred electronically and Ogilvie wouldn't speak to the programme's journalist until he checked his bank account.

Richardson said it wasn't the first time Ogilvie had stripped - and it wouldn't be the last.

"He is a serial streaker. Not at sporting events but at the end of the night on the beers, he will go for a run up the street in the nude."
