Former Sri Lankan cricket captain Hashan Tillakaratne said on Tuesday, he was willing to share information on match fixing with the governing body of world cricket, the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Tillakaratne told reporters, after reiterating his earlier statement that match fixing was going on in Sri Lanka since 1992, that he will provide ICC with information "at the appropriate time".
"After I came out with these allegations [at the weekend] I have been getting a lot of nuisance calls, death threats, but definitely I will expose all those who are involved in a time to come," the BBC quoted him as having said, and adding that he was likely to work with the ICC’s anti-corruption unit in the "days to come".
Earlier, the 43 year old, who is an opposition United National Party member, made a statement to the Western Provincial Council.
"I have made these statements neither to gain any political mileage nor to put anyone in an awkward position. The core point of this exercise is to protect the game and the players we all love so much. For this venture, I hope, the cricket supporters of this country will join hands with me," the statement said.
Without taking names, Tillakaratne levelled allegations at a number of politicians and current sports administrators. “Those who have direct contacts with the betting industry and those who have family contacts in the betting industry have been given top positions in the cricket administration sadly. Apart from this, a top official against whom there have been allegations in awarding country’s cricket television rights is occupying a top position in the current administration,” he said.

{{/usCountry}}“Match fixing is something which has been in this country over a period of time. This has spread like a cancer today,” Tillakaratne was quoted as saying by Sri Lanka's Daily Mirror newspaper on Friday.
Tillakaratne’s Tuesday statement comes a day after sport minister, Mahindananda Aluthgamage ordered a police enquiry into the allegations. "I have asked the inspector-general of police to investigate these claims and give a report to me," Mahindananda Aluthgamage told reporters after meeting cricket administrators on Monday.
