Opener Dhawan failed to make it to the crease for the start of the fourth day's play after suffering an injury to his right wrist.

He was later forced to cancel a trip to hospital for X-Rays on the injury, however, and return to the middle to resume his innings after Australia ripped through the Indian batting early in the day.

"Indian team has been asking for the fresh net practice wickets several times for last two days which not been provided instead of that, they have asked to practice on worn out wickets which has uneven bounce," read a team statement.

"Because of that, two of our batsmen got injured today morning, one of the two batsmen Shikhar Dhawan had a right wrist injury because of that he was unable to bat in the morning.

"He is been examined by our physio and will assess his fitness in sometime."

Queensland Cricket later tweeted: "Australians say no problems with them and curator says they mirror exact state of the test pitch in middle".
