Ashwin and Axar's stand stopped Australia from running away with the game

IND vs AUS 2nd Test, Day 2 highlights: Axar Patel scored a brilliant 74 as India managed 262/10 in their first innings in response to Australia's 263/10. Axar's powerful performance also saw India recover from 139/7 as he added 114 runs with Ashwin for the eighth wicket. Ashwin was dismissed for 37 by Pat Cummins. Meanwhile, Nathan Lyon was the standout performer from the Aussie camp, as he ran through the Indian top-order earlier in the day to push the hosts on backfoot. Lyon finished the innings with five wickets. While Ashwin and Axar's partnership may have put the pressure back on the Australians, they responded by getting their second innings off to a flier. Travis Head opened the batting with Usman Khawaja ahead of the struggling David Warner. While Khawaja fell to Ravindra Jadeja, Marnus Labuschagne came in and joined Head in making sure that Australia's run rate remained well above five for the remainder of the day. At Stumps, Australia were 61/1, leading India by 62 runs. Head had scored 39 off 40 balls while Labuschagne is batting on 16 off 19.
