The national selection committee on Friday named Inzamam-ul Haq in the squad to play the second cricket Test against South Africa and pave the way for his graceful exit from the game.
Ending days of speculation over his future, Inzamam announced on Friday he would be retiring from all forms of cricket after the Lahore Test.
"I thought about my future a lot and although I felt I can play for another one or two years but I think my presence in the dressing room might put pressure on the new captain and other players so I have decided to retire now gracefully," Inzamam said.
Inzamam's inclusion was the only addition in the squad.
Chief selector, Salahuddin Ahmed said that Inzamam and Mohammad Yousuf were certain to play the second Test and it would boost the batting line-up.
Inzamam and Yousuf are expected to take the place of Misbah-ul-Haq and Faisal Iqbal. Yousuf had pulled out of the first Test at the last moment saying he was not match fit.
But the chief selector said Yousuf had now been training with the squad and was back to his normal self while Inzamam had also returned to Pakistan after playing for Yorkshire in England.
