Pakistan's former captain Inzamam-ul Haq on Friday said he did not support the Sports Ministry's interference in cricket affairs and felt a lack of proper communication between players and the Pakistan Cricket Board was giving rise to a sense of uncertainty among them.

"I really don't support what is happening. The sooner they announce a new Chairman of the board and allow him to geion channels with the players.

"There is a sense of uncertainty among the players as well as the Board and this is not helped because there is no proper communication between the two," he added.

Inzamam, who will lead the Lahore Badshah's team in the new Indian Cricket League season, said not only cricket but the country itself was passing through a very crucial phase.

"I think as a nation we need to rise above ourselves and show unity and resolve. And both these things are also essential elements in a good cricket team," Inzamam said. The Pakistan Cricket Board is facing a dire situation with the West Indies women's team tour, scheduled for later this month, also derailed.

But a PCB spokesman said since the Board offices were closed for Eid holidays he could only confirm this development tomorrow. "We had given out the usual security assurances to the West Indies board for their women's tour. There is nothing more we can do about it," he said matter of factly.
