Josh Hazlewood then provided the breakthrough with Phil Salt taking a brilliant catch in the deep to send back the left-handed Priyansh. There we have it. RCB have posted 190/9 from their 20 overs against Punjab Kings. Virat Kohli was the top-scorer with 43, but he was overshadowed by Kyle Jamieson and Arshdeep Singh, both of whom picked up three wickets each. In the final stages of RCB’s innings, it was anyone’s game for the taking. RCB were given some much-needed lift but they’re still behind the par first-innings total in Ahmedabad. Kohli missed his fifty and Anushka Sharma's reaction says it all. On a pitch where 200-plus totals have been chased easily in the past, RCB's gears were stuck, giving Punjab Kings no reason to change their approach whatsoever.

When Jamieson picked up his second wicket, RCB lost their third for 96. At the half-way stage, RCB reached 87/2 with Kohli finally scoring just his second boundary. However, the run-scoring wasn't easy, with the PBKS bowler mixing up their deliveries to keep Kohli and Patidar guessing. The wicket of Mayank Agarwal threatened to dampen the mood for RCB but Patidar started well, smoking a six off the wicket-taker Yuzvendra Chahal.

RCB reached 59/1 after 6 overs, laying a solid foundation in the powerplay. Vijaykumar Vyshak came into the attack, but Mayank Agarwal broke free with an aerial shot, mistiming it yet still finding a boundary as Arshdeep Singh was too far to intercept. The over yielded 9 runs, with Agarwal’s aggression complementing Kohli’s steady presence, keeping RCB in a strong position as they aim for a commanding total.
