The BCCI on Wednesday sought the Supreme Court’s permission to examine the statements made by the board’s former head N Srinivasan and India skipper MS Dhoni to the Mudgal panel, which is investigating IPL betting and fixing scandal.

The board also sought to hear the deposition of the chief coordinating Officer of IPL, Sundar Raman. The apex court has listed the matter for Friday.

Senior advocate Harish Salve, who represents Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) secretary Aditya Verma, had accused Chennai Super Kings captain, Dhoni, of lying about the role of Srinivasan’s son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan in betting and match-fixing scandal during the last edition of the cash-rich league.

The board, however, has defended Dhoni saying that he has done no wrong and is innocent.

Earlier in the day, Verma said he would file a contempt petition before the SC if Srinivasan attends the ICC executive board meeting in Dubai.

Verma’s request to interim BCCI head Sunil Gavaskar to remove Raman from his post for alleged involvement in corrupt practices is also under consideration.
