It’s a minor aberration, but won’t recur: Bindra

“It’s very unfortunate that it happened. But we accept the mistake and assure that it will not happen again,” assured PCA president Inderjit Singh Bindra.

He, however, was quick to add that it was a minor aberration and hence one shouldn't read too much into it. "In a five-day match, such minor things could happen anywhere, even in a family function," he said, adding that the report was nothing in comparison to what match referees have had to say about other venues in the past.

As for the delay caused by a glitch in sightscreen, Bindra said such delays happen across the cricket world. "The motored sightscreen, which worked fine over the years, broke down suddenly during the match and we could have done little about it," he said. The PCA has, however, installed a 40x20 feet fixed sightscreen to sort out the issue once and for all.
