On the field, Jonty Rhodes has been teaching the Mumbai Indians' players the tricks to being nimble and to quickly change direction. The South African has been using the same skills outside the field to maneuver through Mumbai's traffic and even the countryside.
Rhodes prefers his Royal Enfield to the team bus and says the short ride from the team hotel to the stadium is liberating. "In a team environment, you are in the team hotel all the time so it's a nice release even if it is just a two and half minutes down the road," said the 41-year-old Indians' fielding coach.
"We dodge and dive around in the stadium. It is certainly a different kind of dodging in the traffic. But I am enjoying it," he added.
However, Rhodes' biking sojourns haven't been restricted to just Mumbai. He has explored Rajasthan, Goa and even Kerala over the last year.
"Last year I went to their (Royal Enfield's) Chennai factory and wrote to the CEO. Then the Jaipur Enfield Riders Club took me around and it was a fantastic experience. Since then I have explored through Kerala and Goa.
"The amazing thing about India is that if you get out of the city and ride for two-three hours you can see so much of the countryside," he added.

{{/usCountry}}Rhodes and his girlfriend stayed back in India after the last edition of the IPL for a vacation in Goa and the player has been hooked to the diversity of the country since then. "Just before this IPL, I went snow boarding in Kashmir. But it is the expedition on the bike I like the most."
