For all the criticism that Twenty20 leagues get from cricket purists, there’s no denying the fact that the shortest format of the game has the tendency to produce some stunning moments of cricketing genius.

One such moment of genius was on display in the Vitality Blast, England’s domestic T20 competition, in a match between the Birmingham Bears and the Lancashire Lightning.

Little known leg-spinner Josh Poysden pitched the ball on middle and leg and the ball spun and knocked off the top of batsman Steven Croft’s off-stump, leaving him in complete shock.

Birmingham chased down the target in 14.1 overs, thus keeping alive their chances of making it to the quarter-finals of the tournament.

In the grand scheme of things, the loss mattered little to Lancashire as they have already secured their spot in the last eight.
